全新‘山芭妹’郭舒贤与林湘萍 Ann & Yvonne – the new kampong chicks

MediaCorp’s new 2011 Channel 8 local drama ‘The Bond 甘榜情’ (30 episodes) brings you back to the 60s-70s! It is set in the beauitful picturesque kampong... There are no ‘princess or princes’ (sorry to disappoint fans of princesses and princes) in the cast as all the major lead roles go to...

Ann Kok 郭舒贤 – 家庭主妇兼带看管家翁的杂货店、帮人收十二支. 中学毕业，因为家贫停学，嫁人后就在家里相夫教子，生活平淡。为人善良，能吃苦耐劳，而且有很强的生命力，面对苦难，不屈不饶。婚姻不理想，因为丈夫好赌，又生下哑巴女儿，生活压力很大，经常遭人白眼，但她都能忍辱偷生，为了一对儿女，展望未来。

Yvonne Lim 林湘萍 – 原本是车衣女工，后嫁人，生活潦倒，改去买叩叩面。原是某家人的养女，后被养母买了，嫁入王家，做了王立海(陈泓宇)的妻子-活泼好动，敢作敢为，嘴巴很犀利，敢于顶嘴。从来不会向困难低头，很重视与Ann之间的姐妹情。

Zheng Ge Ping 郑各评 – 私会党徒，后改邪归正。原本也是甘榜旺来出身的穷见孩子，少年时期，父母双双逝世，因为没人管教，而误入歧途。被人取外号叫Buaya。一是因为他嘴大吃四方，说话很夸张；二是小时候家穷没鞋子穿，老是穿一双开嘴的破鞋，走起路来，一开一关，就像鳄鱼。性格开朗。喜欢开玩笑，玩世不恭，潇洒不羁，很有侠义精神。

Shaun Chen 陈泓宇 – Yvonne’s 丈夫，为人自私、鬼鬼祟祟，对妻子也很不尊重，是属于被父母亲宠坏的孩子类型。也是前性病患者，为此饱受折磨，后悔自己的风流所为，却又将复发的病症传给了林水仙 Yvonne，为患甚广。

If you missed Ah-Tao (The Little Nyonya), Ng Hui 黄慧 in real solid roles, you will be pleased to know she will be playing a major memorable role as the super-evil 裁缝师 – 自视过高，自以为是的恶毒女人，总是认为自己读过书，就看不起Ann、Yvonne等一般甘榜妇女，最后又情不自禁的暗恋着Ge Ping，为了爱情，不惜陷害Ann & Yvonne等人，内心很是阴暗。

There are a few more important roles with no cast names attached yet...we’ll see...

With 杨锡彬 Yang Xi Bin as the Executive Producer (who produced 破茧而出/任我遨游/变奏曲 blockbusters), it will be shot in a real beautiful kampong somewhere in Malaysia’s Pahang. What kind of a drama? Picture it as a super melodramatic kampong’s ‘Little Nyonya’ aka 甘榜小娘惹 and you won’t be far off...multi-Star Award’s contender in the making? Maybe...

‘The Bond 甘榜情’ will begin production in December and telecast in the second half of 2011.
